The man who was arrested at the “Patriot Muster” rally in Denver on Saturday for shooting a Donald Trump supporter is not a security guard, at least not according to city officials who announced that they have no official records on the guy.
While Matthew Dolloff is said to have been hired by Denver’s 9News, a local NBC News affiliate, to provide security protection to reporters during their coverage of the event, the Denver Department of Excise and Licenses (DEL) has confirmed that “there is no record for an active licensed security guard now or ever for an individual named Matthew Doloff or Dolloff.”
“If he was operating as a security guard,” the agency went on to reveal in a tweet, “he was in violation of the law.”
Dolloff, who as of now remains something of a mystery, reportedly shot to death Lee Keltner, a local hat maker and military veteran who was attending Patriot Muster with his 24-year-old son. After allegedly facing a confrontation with Dolloff, Keltner pulled out bear mace in self-defense, only to be murdered in cold blood by Dolloff.
Since there was a large contingent of counter protesters at the event, these being members of Antifa and Black Lives Matter (BLM), rumors are circulating that Dolloff may have been a left-wing agitator merely disguised as a security guard. This would seem to be the implication of DEL’s announcement.
“If he was operating as a security guard, he was in violation of the law,” indicated Eric Escudero, a DEL spokesman.
“Security guards are prohibited from carrying or using a firearm without getting an armed firearm endorsement for their license,” he added. “All security guards in Denver are required to get a federal background check before they receive their license.”

While Colorado does not have a statewide licensing scheme in place for working security guards, Denver is one of three Colorado cities that does. If it is determined that 9News hired Dolloff illegally, then substantial lawsuits are likely to follow.
Dolloff was also carrying a concealed weapon at the time of the incident, which despite him having a concealed carry permit would not have been allowed on-duty without extensive training, vetting and permitting by the city of Denver.
On Sunday, Dolloff had his first advisement hearing. The presiding judge declared that Dolloff’s arrest affidavit will be sealed, and the defendant will be held on first degree murder charges without bond. A second suspect that was also detained has since been released.
Keep in mind that this is not the first time that a left-wing goon has gone on a shooting rampage in Colorado. Back in May 2019, a couple of students from a Highlands Ranch STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) school plotted to murder Christians in cold blood for their opposition to the radical LGBTQ agenda.
One of the suspects, 16-year-old “Maya” McKinney, a biological male, had asked the court to refer to him as a “she” because “she” is in the process of “transitioning” from male to “female.”
“He should be charged with a hate crime,” wrote one Denver CBS Local commenter about the Dolloff case, adding, “where is the FBI or DOJ? Cannot trust the Denver DA to do the right thing. Besides, when does BLM and Antifa have a food drive? Who issued that permit and thought it would not cause a problem?”
“The fake guard’s tattoo is linked to a specific ‘arcade communist group,'” wrote another, adding that he believes Dolloff is part of Antifa.
“This has been disputed by his friends who say it’s a space invaders (video game) tattoo,” responded another to this claim.
