Surprise! Yet another example of anti-Trump FBI agent Peter Strzok making sure Hillary Clinton got a pass over her email scandal

By now it should have been obvious to any reasonable, thinking person that through her use of a home-brew private email server during her tenure as secretary of state, Hillary Clinton  not only violated a slew of rules and regulations but also put U.S. national security at grave risk.

If it wasn’t obvious, however, perhaps this latest development will finally prove to be convincing.

As reported by Fox News, anti-Trump FBI counter-terrorism investigator Peter Strzok was made aware of likely breaches of Clinton’s unsecured server while she served as Barack Obama’s top diplomat but he failed to follow up on them.

Sources told the news network that in the final months of the investigation into Clinton’s criminal mishandling of classified emails, Strzok was told about an irregularity in the metadata of her server suggesting it had been breached.

However, there was “no significant follow-up,” Fox News reported, citing two sources familiar with the situation.

Sources also told the network that Strzok, whose anti-Trump text messages led to his removal from the staff of special counsel Robert Mueller, was advised about the metadata irregularity in 2016 but he never supported a formal forensic damage assessment.

Said one source: “Nothing happened.”

The network said that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz is aware of the failure to follow up, though it’s not clear where that leaves the matter. Intelligence community directive 732 says that damage assessments are to be done “in response to unauthorized disclosure or compromise of classified national intelligence,” but so much of this “probe” into Clinton was either done sloppily, half-heartedly, or — in this case, not at all — it’s hard to know how many directives were violated in Obama’s quest to ensure she could survive to succeed him (oops!).

It’s important to put this revelation into context. For one, the FBI has said that intelligence beyond the classification of “top secret” was found on Clinton’s email server; that alone should have gotten her at least 10 years in a federal slammer. (Related: Obama AG Loretta Lynch KNEW that Hillary wouldn’t be recommended for indictment by corrupt COMEY before she ‘RECUSED’ herself.)

But also, let’s not forget that then-FBI Director James Comey said during his bizarre, unorthodox press conference in July 2016 — the one in which he laid out all of Clinton’s crimes but then said “no reasonable prosecutor” would take the case — that it was a near-certainty that her server had been breached:

With respect to potential computer intrusion by hostile actors, we did not find direct evidence that Secretary Clinton’s personal e-mail domain, in its various configurations since 2009, was successfully hacked. But, given the nature of the system and of the actors potentially involved, we assess that we would be unlikely to see such direct evidence. We do assess that hostile actors gained access to the private commercial e-mail accounts of people with whom Secretary Clinton was in regular contact from her personal account. We also assess that Secretary Clinton’s use of a personal e-mail domain was both known by a large number of people and readily apparent. She also used her personal e-mail extensively while outside the United States, including sending and receiving work-related e-mails in the territory of sophisticated adversaries. Given that combination of factors, we assess it is possible that hostile actors gained access to Secretary Clinton’s personal e-mail account.

Later, two sources familiar with the investigation would say the FBI was “99 percent” certain that her server was breached.

Apparently, the principal counterterrorism investigator on the case knew it as well but chose not to pursue the matter.

Because doing so would have further sealed the case against Clinton, and as we already know, Comey planned to exonerate her months before that July presser — even though he also knew her emails had been hacked.

Face it; this is further proof that the investigation into Clinton’s illegal handling of classified emails was never serious because everyone involved wanted her, not Donald J. Trump, in the White House.
